The one-day Electric & Hybrid Rail Technology Online Conference, which will be held on March 17, 2022, will feature presentations from 12 well known and respected industry experts working on some of the most noteworthy rail decarbonization projects in the sector.

Topics to be covered include batteries, charging solutions, hydrogen, fuel cells, electric motors, power electronics, and real-world case studies, plus much more. Speakers confirmed so far include Will Wilson, CEO of Siemens Mobility Ltd, Helen McAllister, strategy and planning director for Network Rail, Lorna McDonald, head of commuter sales (rolling stock) at Hitachi Rail, and Jonathan Brown, global decarbonization and sustainability lead at Ricardo Rail. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

“The online conference will, for the first time, create a dedicated networking platform for rail operators, rolling stock OEMs, and suppliers to discuss and debate alternative-power technologies,” said David Binge, commercial manager for Electric & Hybrid Rail Technology.

“By bringing the pages of the magazine and website to life, we're enabling even greater information exchange because as well as having the opportunity to attend numerous and exclusive presentations about alternative, greener rail propulsion and the necessary infrastructure, delegates will be able to connect with others in the online room,” he continued. “And there is no charge to attend. We want to help accelerate communication in this rapidly expanding industry.”

As mentioned by Binge, the key themes of the online conference are knowledge-exchange and networking. All participants will be able to privately connect with one another to network and they can also share their questions publicly on a simple to use online conference platform.
