Electric & Hybrid Rail Technology March 2023 issue out now

The March 2023 issue of Electric & Hybrid Rail Technology magazine is out now, covering everything from renewable fuels, battery fire safety, silicon carbide power modules, electrification investments and energy harvesting.

In this issue readers will find features including an interview with Ben Chursinoff, manager of policy, environment, and programs at the Railway Association of Canada, in which he discussed how a new rail decarbonization roadmap is helping to set standards for informing future investment decisions for emerging low carbon technologies (page 6).

Elsewhere, EHRT investigates how railroads and locomotive manufacturers are achieving near-term emissions reductions goals using bio and renewable fuels (page 14), Stadler shares more details about its record-breaking battery-powered trains (page 10), and Virginia Tech researchers reveal how they are harnessing the energy created by moving trains to power critical trackside equipment (page 32).

Other topics covered in this issue include battery fire safety, silicon carbide power modules, hydrogen internal combustion engines, and Banedanmark’s electrification program.
